Going into college photography had been a  hobby that enjoyed and I thought it always would just be that, a hobby.  While receiving a communications degree I took classes that included  photography projects.  I loved them but still did not realize that it was career possibility for me.

After college I worked as a journalist for a local paper.  While at the paper, I found myself longing for the staff photographers job instead of my own.    I quit my job at the paper  and started working at a portrait studio which I loved but the studio didn't really allow me to use my creative abilities.  It did give me a lot of training in photographing children of  all ages.  I began taking photography classes and assisting other photographers during this time.  Then people started approaching me about weddings and portraits.   In the last 7 years I have blessed  to turn my hobby into a career.

I love children and have one of my own.  Henley is four and keeps me very busy not to mention keeps my home pretty messy.  So portrait sittings are by appointment only (so we have time to clean). Henley was born three months premature which is why I have the Support March of Dimes on my homepage.  March of Dimes raises money to fund research on prematurity.

Weddings make up a large portion of my business.  The year before I got married to my husband of almost seven years, Josh, I attended 14 weddings.  This helped tremendously in planning our own, but it also helped me realize that I loved being involved in weddings.  While weddings are stressful to some degree it gives me the most satisfaction when I sit down and look at someone's completed wedding album.

I hope I can help you in capturing your most precious moments.

My daughter was born at 28weeks and was 2 pounds and 7 ounces which is why I participate in WalkAmerica and have the fundraising link on my webpage.  Please follow the link if you would like to know more about the walk or the March of Dimes and their efforts to prevent birth defects and prematurity.
